THEY ARE COMING!!
Every year witnesses an affluence of new international students and scholars; they come from all over the world to the U.S. to conduct research and further their education. Most will be returning in a few short years to the highest positions of power and influence in their home countries. God has invited us to be part of what He is doing in the lives of a special group of UCR scholars who will soon be coming to study right here in Riverside. Most are coming to America for the first time. This is a a unique opportunity to share the love of Christ.
This is where you come in!
We are looking for Christians like you, with a heart of service, who might be willing to reach out in practical ways to pick them up during the critical first few days they are in our community. You would go to the airport in pairs; a "Driver" and a "Rider". The "Rider" helps navigate then jumps out at the airport to meet the incoming scholar. Or you could assist as an "Community Host", helping them take care of some of their immediate needs, like setting up a bank account or cell phone service, once they arrive in Riverside.
Don't think you have to know all the ins and outs, we will provide written, detailed instructions and be available to talk you through any snags. You just need to be ready to serve, willing to extend yourself in love and able to donate some of your time.
